A one car accident involving a telephone pole has closed Diamond Hill. ***UPDATE*** Road now open.

A 2 car accident on Rte 53 between Umpawaug Road and Diamond Hill temporarily shut down Rte 53 for just over an hour.

If you were travelling on Cross Highway Saturday morning, you came upon a pile of garbage on fire. The driver of the garbage truck was able to dump the load before the truck itself became involved.

Here we go again. After a week of rain softening up the ground, the heavy wind brings down more trees. One came across Umpawaug Rd this morning. This one blocks Seventy Acre Rd.

Runners from all over enjoy a nice stroll as they pass through Redding on Rte 53 into Sidecut Road.

An overnight MVA took down a pole and wires on Long Ridge Road. The road is open, with a small parkinglot detour.

A combination of temperatures below freezing and rain caused widespread damage to trees and power lines. Many roads in Redding were temporarily closed as Police, Fire Department, and Utility companies worked all day to remove trees from the roads and repair downed power lines.

Weather forecasters say more rain and heavy wind is on the way for tomorrow, so if you have to go out, drive safely.

Parking ban for Redding has been lifted. Caution for all motorists is advised due to blowing and drifting snow onto roadways.
