**Driver alert* *  The railroad overpass bridge on Simpaug Turnpike has now been rated for a 6 ton weight limit – REDUCED from 11 tons.     

This time we joined the Newtown Police Department at the Big Y in Newtown,  for collecting donated non-perishable food items for the local pantries. Shoppers were very generous this year, even during tough economic times.

Information Needed: On Monday, November 17th, a female jogger on Cross Highway was approached by a dark green, older model pickup truck. This occurred in the late afternoon. 2 sperate accidents occured in Redding Sunday morning. On Rte 58 by Newtown Turnpike, a motorcyclist lost control in a patch of dirt and was injured. The second accident was 2 cars, occured on Cross Highway and there were no injuries.

Due to the pending storm Hanna, The West Redding Firehouse’s annual steak and chicken dinner has been rescheduled from Saturday, Sept. 6, to Sunday, Sept. 7 from 4:30 to 9.
